The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival may have been created to celebrate America's break from English rule, but it's also a time to celebrate our little corner of the world. The Balloon Glow at Brucemore, ski shows at Ellis Park, Kernels baseball, and the BBQ Round-up are just a few of the festivities!
Visit the festival's website, where you will find the entire schedule of fun for you and your family!
Remember the carefree days of summer, when all you had to do was figure out what you're going to do with your summer? Friends would gather at the beach or at the pool during the day, then once it cooled off, they would cruise the ave, or pile in a car and head to the drive-in!
There are still a few drive-ins you can visit in Iowa. And although you may have to drive a few miles, I'm sure most people will agree it is worth the drive!
This drive-in is located in Delmar, Iowa, 5 miles south of Maquoketa on Hwy 61 just off of EXIT 153. Admission is $8 for adults, and $5 for kids 5-12.
